Personal Background Check
What information can be learned from a Background Check? Information such as age, marital status, address history, criminal prosecutions or convictions, and driving record can be obtained. Have there been debt problems, bankruptcies, tax liens, judgments and notices of default? Is the individual using false Social Security numbers or do they use an alias (or AKA, “also known as”)? Have they been married before and how many times? Are there past lawsuits; are they suing others or have they been sued in the past?
When dealing with our personal relationships, it is important to uncover information about a person’s character and past. Used in dating and prenuptial situations, screening of nannies, housekeepers or personal assistants, a Background Investigation tells you if someone is being honest about their past or if they are lying about it. The private investigator will trace back the history of the subject and figure out what is fact and what is fiction.
There are low cost websites that advertise these services, however they are often inaccurate and unreliable. Jackson P.I. Services uses the most current databases available to conduct research. Our years of investigative experience find you the answers you need to give you the peace of mind you seek.
Personal Asset Check
The asset search is used to reveal the financial profile of an individual or business. These searches can help you find hidden family assets after a family member’s death. It can prepare you for a filing a lawsuit to check for assets of the individual or business you are pursuing. It can help your attorney uncover a spouse’s hidden accounts or other assets for a divorce case. The asset search can also reveal the integrity or desirability of a potential business or business partner with whom you are giving money to invest.
There are several levels of the asset search, from a basic search of public records to a very thorough, deeper asset investigation, which can reveal hidden assets and offshore accounts. A Private Investigator is required to help uncover these hidden and often hard to find assets.

Child Custody Investigation
With the high rate of divorce in the state of California, many newly divorced parents are experiencing for the first time what it feels like to have someone else look after their children. This becomes even more difficult when that ex-husband or ex-wife has a new girlfriend, boyfriend or nanny who suddenly takes on the role of care-giver, role-model, carpool driver, disciplinarian and many times, step-parent to your child.
Private Investigators can help by conducting a confidential surveillance investigation on the ex-spouse or newly introduced care-giver. It is important to know what is going on with your children when they are not in your immediate care. When speaking to a young child, it can be very difficult to determine what is really happening when they are out of your custody. It can also be equally difficult to determine the truth when speaking to an older child who feels stuck in the middle and wants to protect the other parent.
A Child Custody Investigation is the best way to find out what is really going on without anyone knowing that they are being watched. Please contact us for a free consultation to discuss your situation privately and confidentially with an investigator. We will discuss the best course of action for you and determine whether or not a professional investigation is actually needed to help you ensure that your children live in a safe and secure environment at all times.
Elder Welfare Investigation
With the growing population of Americans reaching retirement and their “golden years”, there corresponds a growing number of seniors in care homes and assisted-living situations, seniors who are dependent on others to look after their welfare. Who is be taking care of your parents? Your grandparents? Do you trust the individuals whom they call their friends? Do you suspect that they are being taken advantage of by the “nice” neighbor, live-in family member, care-giver, or teenage grandson or granddaughter?
Elder abuse is defined as “a single, or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person.” The core element of elder abuse is the "expectation of trust" of the older person toward their abuser. Thus, it includes harm by people the older person knows or with whom they have a relationship, such as a spouse, partner or family member, a friend or neighbor, or people that the older person relies on for services.
Elder abuse is a serious crime that needs to be reported and investigated immediately by law enforcement. But when local law enforcement cannot collect enough evidence to prove the abuse due to lack of time, personnel or equipment needed to conduct the investigation, an Elder Welfare Investigation may be conducted by a Private Investigator. The investigation may require background checks of individuals associated with the senior, detailed interviews, confidential surveillance, in depth asset checks, or videotaped evidence obtained by surveillance.
There are several types of elder abuse that require immediate intervention. They are physical abuse, psychological/emotional abuse, financial abuse, fraud, sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, civil rights or constitutional rights abuses, and institutional abuse by caregivers.
Whatever the concern, it is important to discuss even the mere suspicion of elder abuse with a professional. Please call for a consultation to discuss your specific situation and have our investigators determine whether or not an Elder Welfare Investigation is necessary.
Missing Persons Investigation
The missing person search attempts to locate parties who may or may not want to be found. A runaway teen, a long lost friend, an endangered dependant adult, a witness to a crime, a birth mother or father, siblings or children lost through adoption; there are many reasons to conduct a Missing Persons Investigation.

Services has access to thousands of databases nationwide with millions of names and addresses. These include driver records, consumer profiles, social security data, post office forwarding data, mailing lists, magazine subscriptions, voter records, utility records, reverse telephone directories, real property records, and a host of other public and proprietary databases. Some states have restriction to certain databases, so different methods of location may be used in those states.
Please contact us for a free consultation to discuss your particular situation with an investigator. There are many factors, including how much information you already have on the individual, that will help determine the best course of action for the private investigator to take to locate your missing person.
Self Check Investigation
The use of Background Checks in employment has skyrocketed, and now over 90% of employers use Background Checks for hiring purposes. A Self Check allows you to check out what potential employers may see, evaluate the accuracy of the data, eliminate errors, and handle disclosure of sensitive information during the hiring process.
When you know what is in your file, you gain leverage in the hiring and interview process. You can feel so much more confident going into your interview knowing that there will be no surprise questions or information that you haven’t already prepared yourself to answer. Jackson P.I. Services can also help you go over the data and work on “cleaning it up” if there are inaccuracies and sensitive material that you discover.
